I have extensive experience at all levels of production from Producing, to Series Producing, to Executive Producing, Commissioning, and departmental Editing, having worked with both in-house teams and indies of varying sizes whilst at the BBC. Calm and confident when faced with pressure, I possess a thoughtful, personable manner, and aim to inspire and lead by example.
I am a creative and adaptable producer with over seventeen years production experience in the BBC across television, web, and radio. Not only am I confident in production in each of the mediums, I also have a proven ability to identify and develop content synergies between the platforms, and to realise those ideas.
I'm experienced and diligent with a strong work ethic for producing high quality, audience focused content. I have worked on programmes and content across Factual, Childrens, Comedy, Entertainment, Music, live broadcasts (location and studio), Gaelic and Drama, as well as a considerable amount of animation. I have extensive working knowledge of complicated co-productions, both within the UK and with international partners, and an understanding on how to navigate productions, anticipating and responding to challenges and differing (and sometimes opposing) needs.
In addition to strong editorial, line-management and leadership skills, I have a wealth of experience on both short and long-form shoots, directing crews, self-shooting, and editing. I have been lucky enough to shoot films all over the world in locations like China, the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, Norway, Sweden, South Africa and Germany, and have worked remotely with production teams, programmers and designers in Japan, the USA, Poland, Italy, Panama and France.
I have also had a lot of involvement in development, producing pitch documents and taster tapes, responding to briefs, and face-to-face pitching to Commissioners and Channel Execs, as well as having been on the other side of the table in a commissioning capacity.
