Alastair is a superb storyteller who brings curiosity, creativity, craft, courage and commitment to his programme-making. There is an intelligent and mature lucidity to the way he works that inspires confidence - he is quick to master a brief and see how it can be shaped into something compelling and original. This is partly because he is a gifted communicator and advocate, but also due to the very evident passion, drive and ambition he has for projects. Alastair is also extremely versatile and comfortable working across a range of documentary genres - from arts to military history, sports to journalistic investigation. He is highly experienced at dealing with the different TV channels and tailoring programmes to the needs of commissioners in the cutting room.
