Ross Bolidai is a Royal Television Society Award winning and Grierson nominated shooting director based in London.

His first student film won an RTS Award in 2012. After a brief career as a cinematographer, Ross received a scholarship to study Documentary Directing at the National Film and Television School.

His Graduation film Coalville Gold was an exploration of masculinity and an ode to family, told through the eyes of a young bare-knuckle boxer. The film premiered at Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, where it won the 2016 Wildcard Award and was later nominated for a Grierson Award and a BIFA in the Best British Short category.

His next short, The Journey, was a different exploration of masculinity - a celebration of the families that we make for ourselves, told through the eyes of 85 year old coming to terms with his sexuality. The film won the Channel 4 First Cut Pitch at Sheffield Doc/Fest.

Ross has developed stories for both the BBC and Channel 4. Read Less
