I’m an experienced award winning producer/director of specialist factual and factual entertainment content including popular Science, Natural History, Archaeology, Engineering and Obs. Doc. I love directing crews but I’m also a keen self-shooter (FS7) and DJI Ronin operator.

I write serious and humorous scripts, run large teams, bring programmes in on small and big budgets, edit-produce to deadline and commission-brief, and maintain high production value. I enjoy working all over the world from Chinese pig farms to Rwanda’s Lake Kivu and from the Australian bush to European ski slopes.

I build great working relationships with presenters including Kari Byron, Julian Clary, Liz Bonnin, Dallas Campbell, Fiona Bruce, Lucy Cooke, Anna Richardson and Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

Positive Energy won the Broadcast Digital Award for best content partnership film of 2018. Read Less

Rob has worked as a Series PD and PD for OSF several times and is one of our 'go to' directors for our specialist factual and popular natural history output. He's hugely creative, great in the edit, lovely to be around, super organised and always unflappable. He knows good music, and has a great sense of humour which always comes across in his films. He really understands how to get tricky science ideas across in a popular, accessible way and knows how to tell a story. Always a huge pleasure to work with.

Alice Keens-Soper

When I need to put together a team I have a pretty short list of people who manage to be creative, technically accomplished, knowledgable and, perhaps most important, a great person to have around. Rob is at the top of that very short list; he's a great writer, a resourceful and creative director and he possesses a sound narrative sense. Recommended!
