I went to The California Institute of the Arts for college, which is considered the 5th best film school in America. After graduating with a BFA in Film/Video, I was eager to start working and with some connections in film marketing, I got my first job in publicity/marketing. However, it wasn't the right career path for me, development was always the dream. Every single component of the job excited me and I truly believe I excel at it. I was on the right path!My first job was assisting Sara Scott (Universal Pictures) she took a chance on me and has continued to be my mentor and friend. I wanted to experience both the studio side and producing side of development and so, I then assisted Dylan Clark (Oblivion (P), Planet of the Apes (2011-2017 movies) (P), Bird Box (P), The Batman (P)). There were elements I liked about both, but at the time, I wanted to continue working at production companies.I was eager to keep pushing forward and felt ready to take on more. I then became a CE at Brownstone Productions (Elizabeth Bank's Company) and there, I worked in both Film and TV. Along with film and tv, comic books/graphic novels are a huge love of mine. Skybound (Robert Kirkman & David Alpert's Company) had always been a company I wanted to work for and one day, I got the call! They hired me to be their Director of Development for film/tv. I wanted to keep learning from others and expanding my experience. So next, I was hired by 87North to be their Vice President of TV.I'm very proud of resume and the work that I've done so far. I've learnt so much, worked extremely hard, maintained great relationships with agents, managers, executives, writers, directors and talent. And truly love the work. I still can't believe that I get to do this for a living!I recognize that I will need to put in extra work if I want to break into the industry in England, but I also believe that I do have connections, experience and knowledge that I can bring to the table.I am not concerned about titles. I just want to join a team where I can do the work, discover talent and craft films and tv shows that both entertain but also, maybe, help the audience in some small way.Thank you for taking the time to read this.-Sam
