I am an italo-argentinian living near London and trying to re-enter the cultural industry after many years of working in hospitality and IT. In Argentina I worked in TV as an Office Production Assistant where I provided general admin support as well as scripts, documents and email translations. I studied Cinematography and Art Direction before going on to attain a BA (Hons) in Art History/Arts Management. I lived in Italy and worked as a Tour Guide in Florence and Venice before moving to the UK in 2019, where shortly after the pandemic started and working in tourism wasn’t an option anymore. In the past two years my role has involved providing technical support in four languages to the end-users of the company’s software. I prepare reports and presents these to clients over Zoom meetings, and regularly update process documentation following guidance from them. Because of my degree, I have knowledge of the history of fashion, furniture and cultures and the tools that are required to research them in the context of specific periods, places or social classes. You will see in my CV that I haven’t had the opportunity to shape my career in the Cultural industry as I would have wanted. However, I feel that the different jobs I have had over the years have allowed me to gain knowledge from different disciplines and transferable skills that would allow me to work well as a Researcher, and I would love the opportunity to develop my skillset further in an industry I am passionate about.
