The Edit Producer will work alongside an editor, watching rushes from complex incidents and streamlining them into clear and compelling stories.

The ideal candidates will have experience of working with observational documentary material and have experience identifying material that can form stories for hour-long episodes with often sensitive, character-focussed narrative. They will have experience working with a high volume of footage, navigating through it quickly to find the best stories.  

These are fast-turnaround edits where decisiveness is key, so applicants would benefit from having previous credits in this role.

This position is office based and the successful applicant will work closely with the Producer and AP. They will be exposed to all areas of editorial support, including researching storylines, shoot planning and support, assisting with consent and compliance and various other aspects of production.

This role will be supported by Screen Scotland and we are particularly keen to hear from female self-shooters, Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, or those from a lower socio-economic group. Candidates must be Scotland based.

Applicants should have previous experience working on blue light programmes or observational documentaries and can work calmly in pressurised environments. They should have extensive experience filming eye-catching, compelling stories on the Sony FX6 and managing multiple GoPros. 

They will be confident working editorially on their own, with a strong track record of building trust and long-term relationships with contributors, including emergency service personnel and members of the public.
