Location Assistant
Description
DSP are looking for a Location Assistant for a returning BBC One daytime show, filmed at Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire.
The role spans two areas - Camera Assisting and DIT / rushes wrangling and is an opportunity to be involved on the ground with the film crew for both contributor and presenter led filming, and be an integral part of the production team.
We are looking for someone with previous experience of wrangling rushes and handling data on location, as well as an understanding of camera set up - ideally for FS7's and go pros. Experience as a Tech Runner or Camera Assistant would be desirable. This is a busy role, and requires multi tasking and the ability to work across several areas of production.
The daily responsibilities are:
- Data wrangling and ingest of rushes including backing up to master drives
- Daily communication with the post house regarding ingest and rushes delivery
- Set up and care taking of cameras and kit - including working with the film team to prep ahead for each shoot day
- Assisting the PD and production team during filming including camera set up and management of camera cards
- Some assistance to the PM team if needed
- General assistance to the production team including help setting up shoots and driving round location
The role is based daily at Longleat, and the candidate must be within daily commuting distance of this location, and ideally hold a drivers licence.
