Scripted production company AC Chapter One is being rebranded following a management buyout led by Mr Bates vs the Post Office producer Patrick Spence.

Now known as Chapter One, the outfit has secured investment from former Fifth Season chief executive Chris Rice, who becomes non-executive chairman of the new-look company.

Anonymous Content, which previously owned 50% of AC Chapter One, now becomes a minority holder alongside Casarotto Ramsay and United Agents, which each previously held 25% stakes.

The three minority partners set up the company in 2018, with Spence joining in 2023.

Its productions to date have included BBC1’s Best Interests [pictured] and Netflix’s Boy Swallows Universe and its upcoming series includes Channel 4’s The Siege, the BBC’s Dragon Slayers and ITV’s Two Birds.

Spence runs Chapter One with support from Jo Evans, director of production.

Details of the buyout were first revealed by Deadline.
