ITV is looking for 20 freelancers to join a three-month pilot of a scheme offering an industry mentor and weekly networking and training opportunities.

Designed with The Film and TV Charity in response to its sector-wide Looking Glass mental health survey, The ITV Green Room programme aims to offer a peer network that meets once a week.

They will have access to the ITV London White City office to work together, and will undertake ‘lunch and learn’ sessions covering issues such as resilience and understanding one’s strengths.

ITV will also provide three dedicated coaching sessions with an ITV mentor to support career progression and contacts, plus three workshops delivered in conjunction with ITV Academy, including CV clinics, an industry futures insight day, and networking with ITV Studios label representatives, talent managers and commissioners.

Though initially offered to London-based freelancers, ITV plans to roll it out across the regions in the future.

ITV head of strategy and communications, social purpose, Sarah Hunt said the pilot aimed to show “how bringing people together and providing a space to work, access to decision-makers and insight into the industry will help to boost people’s skills, confidence and networks - something that could be replicated across the industry”.

ITV Academy director Sonny Hanley added: “This pilot is designed to bridge the challenging and isolating gaps between roles, serving as a crucial investment in the well-being and long-term sustainability of the UK’s production workforce.”

Applications are open until 23:59 on Monday 5 January 2026 and all applicants will be notified of the outcome by Friday 16 January.

The scheme then runs on Tuesdays from 27 January to 28 April.
