Elsa Sharp – Talent Executive - BBC News and Current Affairs

Elsa Sharp is a talent executive in BBC News and Current Affairs recruiting editorial and production freelancers for Panorama, This World, Newsnight and topical documentaries and investigations for BBC Two and Three.

Elsa recruits production and editorial staff from entry level to film makers and executive producers as well as supporting continuous production management roles in News for the World Service, BBC Arabic and Africa Eye and joined the department in 2020. She has been at the BBC for 10 years and has worked across a range of genres including Documentaries, specialist factual, music, factual entertainment and events.

Prior to joining the BBC in 2013 Elsa worked as a head of talent at various indies including Dragonfly Film and TV, Firecracker Films and Raw Television. She started her TV as a researcher and freelanced in production and development series and series edit producing before becoming a Head of Talent in 2005.

She wrote the paperback, How To Get A Job in Television, which was published by A&C Black in 2009. In 2021 she self published eBook How to Get A Job in Television Updated. She has taught and taken part in training events with Screenskills, the National Film and Television School and BAFTA.
