Is it possible for a mid-40's man to break into television production?

Had a career in recruitment but many moons ago I had a placement with the BBC, Real Radio, some extra work and did a short radio production course.

Always wanted to get into production but delayed things (my own limiting beliefs perhaps) as we built a family.

Happy to start as a runner but I feel the juxtaposition of age and role maybe too great a hurdle for most hiring managers.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Richard
